Foot and ankle include 30 bones which constitute 38 joints. Two functions of foot and ankle are weight bearing and support of motion. Osteoarthritis negatively affects both motion and weight bearing functions of foot and ankle. In this article, osteoarthritis of ankle and first metatarsophalangeal joints, which are more common and in which non-operative treatment was predominantly chosen rather than other foot joints, were reviewed. Therefore, physiatrist perspective for evaluation and therapeutic approach of these mentioned disorders was summarized. Turk J Phys Med Rehab 2009; 55 Suppl 1: 15-9.en_US
