İstanbul ili güngören ilçesindeki liselerde eğitim gören öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme düzeyleri

Özet
Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte olan bu araştırmanın amacı, İstanbul ili Güngören ilçesindeki liselerde eğitim gören öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme düzeylerini, etkileyen etmenleri belirlemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu İstanbul ili Güngören ilçesinde 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılının bahar döneminde 11 lisede eğitim gören 10730 öğrenciden okullara, sınıflara ve cinsiyete göre tabakalı örnekleme yöntemi ve rastgele sayılar tablosu kullanılarak gönüllü 1157 öğrenci dahil edildi. Araştırmada lise öğrencilerinin eleştirel düşünme düzeyini ölçmek için Facione, Facione ve Giancarlo tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Califonia Eleştirel Düşünme Eğilimleri Ölçeği’nin Türkçe versiyonu kullanıldı. Bununla birlikte araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Veri Toplama Formu kullanıldı. Araştırmada eleştirel düşünme eğilim ölçeğinin güvenirliği ölçek alt boyutları için hesaplanan Cronbach’s alpha güvenirlilik katsayısı 0.98 bulunmuş olup, verilerin analizinde bağımsız örneklem t testi, tek taraflı ANOVA testi, post hoc ikili karşılaştırma testleri kullanıldı. İstatistiksel anlamlılık düzeyi olarak p<0.05 kabul edildi. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %57.7’sinin kadın, %42.2’sinin erkek olduğu, %46.7’sinin Mesleki ve Teknik Lise’de eğitim gördüğü, %36.3’ünün anne eğitim düzeyinin ilköğretim mezunu olduğu, %30.6’sının baba eğitim düzeyinin lise mezunu olduğu, %72.1’inin sosyo-ekonomik durumunun orta düzey olarak tanımladığı, %42.3’ünün tercih ettiği alanın sayısal olduğu, %59.4’ünün herhangi bir kültürel etkinliğe katılmadığı saptandı. Araştırmada; Anadolu Lisesi öğrencilerinin, sosyo-ekonomik durumu iyi öğrencilerin, eğitim düzeyi yüksek ebeveyne sahip, sayısal alanı tercih eden ve kültürel etkinliklere katılan öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme düzeyi yüksek bulundu (p<0.05). Araştırmanın sonucuna göre; farklı türde liselerde eğitim gören öğrencilerin ilgi yeteneklerine göre becerilerinin geliştirilmesi, kültürel ve bilimsel etkinliklere ağırlık verilmesi önerilebilir.
The purpose of the study which is descriptive and cross-sectional is determining of the factors that affect critical thinking levels of the high-schoolers in Güngören, İstanbul. 1157 volunteer students out of 10730 students who had studied in 11 different schools in Güngören, İstanbul during the spring semester of 2018-2019 academic years were included into the study by using the method of stratified sampling and the table of random numbers according to their schools, grades, and genders. The Turkish version of California Critical Thinking Disposition Scale, which was developed by Facione, Facione, and Giancarlo, was used in the study to evaluate the critical thinking levels of high-schoolers. In addition, The Data Collection Form developed by the researcher was used. The reliability of Critical Thinking Disposition Scale was found out 0.98 in the study according to Cronbach’s Alpha. And the unpaired T test, one way ANOVA test, Post hoc multiple comparison tests were used to analyse the data. The level of Statistical significance was regarded as p<0.05. 66 It was determined that %57.7 of the students participating in the study are female, %42.2 of them are male, %46.7 of them study in Vocational and Technical high schools, %72.1 of them are middle classes, %42.3 of them prefer science and mathematics departments, %59.4 of them aren’t interested in any cultural activities, %36.3 of student’s mothers are primary school graduates, and %30.6 of student’s fathers are high-school graduates. It was found out in the study that students who study in Anatolian high schools, have good socio-economic status, have well-educated parents, prefer science and mathematics departments, and join in cultural activities have high level of critical thinking (p<0.05). According to the results of the study, it might be suggested that skills of the students who study in different kind of schools should be improved according to their concern and ability, cultural and scientific activities should be concentrated more should be acquired.
