Özet
“Anlatı”, geçmişten günümüze, insanlığın var olduğu andan itibaren süregelen kültürel bir olgudur. Bütün toplumlarda, insan hayatının her alanında anlatı mevcuttur. İki kişinin birlikte ettiği sohbetin içerisinde de, sanat eserinin içeriğinde de anlatı vardır. Bu tez kapsamında çeşitli felsefecilerin düşüncelerinden yararlanılarak ve bilimsel metodlara dayandırılarak “anlatı” kavramı açıklanmış, bu kavramla ilgili olduğu düşünülen “gösterge” ve “göstergebilim” kavramlarına değinilmiştir. Roland Barthes, Ferdinand de Saussure ve Sanders Pierce gibi çeşitli düşünürlerin bu kavramlara yaklaşım biçimleri ele alınmıştır. Görsel sanatlar alanında, “anlatı” kavramıyla yakından ilişkili olduğu düşünülen “resimlerarasılık” kavramı, Martlı’nın çeşitli sanatçılardan alıntılayarak yeniden ürettiği eserleriyle birlikte değerlendirilmiş ve açıklanmıştır. Yine bu bağlamda, “pastiş”, “üslup”, “hikaye” ve “otoportre” gibi konular elde edilen bilgiler dahilinde sanat tarihinden görsel referanslar alınarak Nihal Martlı’nın eserleri üzerinden incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma eser-metin şeklinde hazırlanmış olup, çalışmanın son bölümü kendi resimlerimdeki anlatıların çözümlenmesine ayrılmıştır
“Narrative” is an ever-present cultural phenomenon that has been ingrained in the existence of humanity since its beginning. It exists within the domain of human life, within all communities. It exists in a dialogue between two people, as well as in the content of a piece of art. In this dissertation, the concept of “narrative” is expounded based on scientific methods and ideas of various philosophers, with reference to concepts of “sign” and “semiotics”, which are thought to be related to this notion. The way how several thinkers such as Roland Barthes, Ferdinand de Saussure, and Sanders Pierce approach these concepts is discussed. The concept of “interpicturality”, which is believed to be closely associated with the concept of “narrative”, is expounded and evaluated along with Nihal Martlı’s pastiches based on various artist’s artworks. Within the same context, concepts such as “pastiche”, “style”, “story”, and “self-portrait” are analyzed through Martlı’s artworks in light of obtained information and with visual references from art history.
