Öğe Alcohols Effect on Critic Micelle Concentration of Polysorbate 20 and Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromine Mixed Solutions(Springer Heidelberg, 2013) Sidim, Taliha; Acar, GokhanIn this research, the micellar behavior of a cationic surfactant, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) and an nonionic surfactant, polysorbate 20 (Polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monolaurate) in different alcohol solutions media was investigated over the temperature range 293.15-313.15 K. The interaction between two surfactants in binary systems can be determined by calculating the values of their beta parameters. The critical micelle concentrations (CMC) of the micelles were determined from the surface tension, the conductivity at different temperatures. The CMC behavior of CTAB and polysorbate 20 was analyzed in terms of the effect of temperature and the increase in the alcohol carbon chain. Changes in the critical micelle concentration of mixed surfactant systems of different alcohol solutions were measured. The CMC decreased sharply as the hydrocarbon chain length of the alcohols becomes larger. This shows that the more hydrophobic alcohols are, the more marked a decrease in CMC is observed.Öğe Karışık misellerde surfaktant etkileşimi(Trakya Üniversitesi, 1999) Sidim, Taliha; Akbaş, HalideÖZET Sodyum dodesil sülfat (SDS) ve polioksietilen 23 lauril eter (Brij 35) sulu çözeltilerinin ve bunların O.IM NaCl'lu çözeltilerinin karıştırılmasıyla oluşan karışık misel çözeltilerini incelemek amacıyla yüzey gerilimleri ve iletkenlikleri ölçülmüştür. Çözeltilerin yoğunlukları da Paar DMA 38 densitometre kullanılarak ölçülmüştür.Öğe Microemülsiyon konjuge su fazlarında çözünen madde pertitisyonu(Trakya Üniversitesi, 2006) Sidim, Taliha; İşcan, Mehmet[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Some physicochemical properties of octylphenol ethoxylate nonionics (triton x-100, triton x-114 and triton x-405) and the temperature effect on this properties(Trakya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2012) Sidim, TalihaSurface tensions and condutvities of aqueous solutions of nonionic surfactants at various concentrations were measured at diffferent temperatures. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of aqueous solutions of three different octylphenol ethoxylate nonionics(Triton X-114, Triton X-100 and Triton X-405) are determined at different temperatures. The effect of the ethylene oxide chain length and temperature on the CMC is also determined.Öğe Some Surface Properties of Polysorbates and Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromine Mixed Systems(Springer Heidelberg, 2011) Sidim, Taliha; Arda, MeltemMixed surfactant solutions consisting of cationic/nonionic surfactants were prepared in different compositions of the components in aqueous solution in order to determine the surface properties. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of aqueous solutions of the individual surfactants cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) and polysorbate nonionics, and their mixtures are determined at different proportions. The results show that there is synergistic behavior in mixtures at higher mole fraction of nonionic surfactant. The effect of the alkyl chain on the CMC is also determined.Öğe Thermodynamic and Interfacial Properties of Cationic Gemini Surfactant in the Presence of Alcohols(Carl Hanser Verlag, 2018) Sidim, Taliha; Akbas, HalideThe micellar properties of the cationic Gemini surfactant ethanediyl-1,2-bis(dimethyldodecyl ammonium bromide), C12H25 center dot(CH3)(2)N+-(CH2)(2)-N+(CH3)(2)C(12)H(25 center dot)2Br(-) (12-2-12), with short chain alcohols have been studied by conductivity and surface tension measurements within the temperature range 293.15 K-313.15 K and alcohol percentage. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of 12-2-12 solution, degree of ionization (alpha) and standard Gibbs free energy of micellization (Delta G(m)degrees), standard enthalpy of micellization (Delta H-m degrees) were calculated from conductivity and surface tension data. The experimental data show that the CMC values of cationic Gemini surfactants increased with addition of methanol, ethanol and n-propanol. The thermodynamic parameters (Delta G(m)degrees), (Delta H-m degrees) and (Delta S-m degrees) of micellization of 12-2-12 in alcohol were also calculated from the temperature dependence of the CMC values. CMC, (alpha), (Delta H-m degrees) and (Delta S-m degrees) increased linearly with increasing temperature. In the mixture of dimeric cationic surfactant (12-2-12) and alcohol solutions, the CMC values showed a slight increase with increasing alcohol concentration. CMC, maximum surface excess concentration at the solution/air interface, Gamma(max), minimum area per surfactant molecule, A(min), and the surface pressure at CMC, IICMC, values calculated from the surface tension measurements and thermodynamic parameters have been evaluated at same temperatures.
