Vocational education is gaining importance rapidly in recent years. Gaining
skills in transnational societies is a prerequisite for supplying labor in the labor market.
In qualifying vocational education activities, higher education at the level of associate
degree is critical for market oriented practitioner positions. The higher education
system needs to be developed by the public authority to meet the needs of the country.
If the planning is made without considering the supply and demand balance in the
market, there may be severe unemployment problems. The level of professional
expectation is generally reduced in the students who are included in the education in
the branches where the risk of unemployment is high. In this study, the existence of
segregation according to the classes and vocational schools of higher education among
the students studying in the social sciences, technical sciences and health services
vocational colleges which constitute the three main branches of education. The
findings in general support that second grade students are more pessimistic in their
professional expectations than first year students. It is noteworthy that this pessimism
is further increased in the field of health services, where employment opportunities are
more common than other areas.
