| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmanın amacı, iskeletsel ve dişsel Sınıf I ilişkiye sahip bireylerde dört adet birinci ve ikinci premolar diş çekiminin faringeal havayolu boyutları üzerindeki etkilerini karşılaştırmaktır. Çalışmada, 16-21 yaş aralığında dört adet birinci ve ikinci premolar çekimi ile ortodontik tedavi görmüş toplam 52 bireyin tedavi öncesi ve tedavi sonrası dönemde alınan lateral sefalometrik radyografi dijital arşiv kayıtları kullanıldı. Her iki gruba 26 birey dahil edildi. Sefalometrik havayolu analizi ile iskeletsel ve dişsel analizler bilgisayar yazılım programı (Dolphin Imaging) ile gerçekleştirildi. Gruplar arası normal dağılıma uyan verilerin karşılaştırılmasında bağımsız örneklem-t testi, normal dağılmayan verilerin karşılaştırılmasında Mann Whitney U Testi kullanıldı. Her iki çekim grubunda kesici dişlerin inklinasyonlarında azalma, dil kalınlığı mesafesinde anlamlı artış ve inferior havayolu boşluğu mesafesinde anlamlı azalma izlenmiştir. Birinci premolar grubunda süperior posterior havayolu boşluğu mesafesinde anlamlı azalma ve ikinci premolar grubunda vertikal havayolu boşluğu mesafesinde anlamlı artış gerçekleşmiştir. Hyoid kemik ve yumuşak damak ile ilgili ölçümlerde değişim gözlenmemiştir. Dil kalınlığının artışı ile inferior havayolu boşluğu mesafesinde azalma olmasına rağmen birinci ve ikinci premolar çekiminin havayolu boyutları üzerindeki etkileri arasında fark yoktur. Ortodontik tedavilerde premolar dişlerin çekim kararı, her vakanın özelliklerine göre değerlendirilmelidir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to compare the effects of four first and second premolar extractions on pharyngeal airway dimensions in subjects with skeletal and dental Class I relationships. In the study, lateral cephalometric radiography digital archive records taken in the pretreatment and post-treatment period of a total of 52 subjects aged 16-21 years, who received orthodontic treatment with four first and second premolar extractions, were used. 26 subjects were included in both groups. Cephalometric airway and dentoskeletal analyzes were performed with a computer software program (Dolphin Imaging). The independent sample-t test was used to compare the data with normal distribution between the groups, and the MannWhitney U Test was used to compare the data that were not normally distributed. In both extraction groups, a decrease in incisors' inclinations, a significant increase in tongue thickness and a significant decrease in inferior airway space were observed. There was a significant decrease in the superior posterior airway space in the first premolar group and a significant increase in the vertical airway space in the second premolar group. No change was observed in the parameters related to the hyoid bone and soft palate. Although there was a increase in tongue thickness with the decrease in the inferior airway distance, there was no difference between the effects of the first and second premolar extraction groups on the airway dimensions. The decision to extract premolar in orthodontic treatments should be evaluated according to the characteristics of each case. | en_US |
