    DAVID HOCKNEY’İN SANATINDA ANA BAŞLIKLAR

    This article explores the artistic significance of David Hockney's works produced in a time span of 50 years in terms of technique, theme and originality/authenticity. As it is widely known, Hockney is considered as one of the prominent figures in 1960's Pop Art movement. After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1962, receiving the Gold Medal, he goes to Los Angeles and following this first visit, he continuously travels back and forth between this city and London. His Beverly Hills Housewife, dated 1966 is the first of his works which brings him visibility in the international art market. The painting that increases his popularity and draws the attention of the art world to his works is his A Bigger Splash, dated 1967. The range of his oeuvre comprising a variety of styles and bearing the influence of different art movements and tecniques qualifies almost as a form of autobiography

    Flesh: Lucıan Freud

    Lucian Freud, lived in a period of great changes and pursuits on art, made a name in twentieth art era. Separated from modern trends seen both United Kingdom and as well as U.S., artist, especially on portrait works, by forming a personal expressive language, marked on our age. While we are observing his art adventure and devolopment on these portraits, we follow closely the artists interpretation on body and building relations between body and sense. Artist, in 1940s, by following the art styleof the age, while continuing for new styles during 1950s, with the early 1960s he got a individual style. This is a new way that he figure out to build the sign of spirit and time on body. On these works, body and spirit both naked at the same rate. With these works, flesh is valued as a part of a life and expresses itself. Fleshes, full of sense, leave no gaps in the audience. Not that we want to see on body, our perception is oriantated by what Freud wants to show. Figure enforces itself as a separate individual and wins the challenge against the audience. The winner of this challenge is not only the figure. Art he created with the hard expressions of mind and patience, Lucian Freud became a one of the most important name in his century and both in 21st century
