These have been developed recently as a result of technological developments, especially in smart devices. Individuals from the Y generation, who are also called the millennials, have a significant influence on shaping the present and future technology. Y generation employees want to use their own devices, including their own personal applications. Allowing employees to use their own devices does not mean that you will lose anything or have no control. For this reason, the BYOD policy, when implemented at a good level, significantly increases business performance and increases the productivity with the benefits provided by mobility. The BYOD tendency, which is difficult to avoid, increases the productivity of employees and the flexibility of the company in the eyes of the employees, by letting them use their own devices in the business environment. Moreover, it reflects positively on the employees' morale, with a subsequent increase in company loyalty. The aim of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability analyses done during the development of the scale which aims to measure the effects of BYOD on workers and to assess its security components, benefits, applicability and sustainability. Our goal is to revise the previous research done and present objective values and findings obtained from the analyses. These values were based on the demographic information and the answers given by participants about to what extent BYOD is known and legal, its vulnerabilities in infrastructure and data security, the way it affects workers' perceptions individually and in general, and the benefits it provides. SPSS 20 program was used for descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), item analyses and correlation coefficients.Öğe Distance education applications in concept acquisition for disabled individuals/special education for handicapped(Elsevier Science Bv, 2009) Topaloglu, Ayseguel Oezdemir; Topaloglu, MuratDistance education has become developing and becoming widespread application all around the world, for the individuals, expecting different conditions and expectations as an option for education. Reaching the speed of sharing and cycle of knowledge is the objective of the basis of all education technologies presented until today. That is because of the fact that distance education is providing education to large mass with a quite flexible approach for individuals who are in different conditions in the form of that they can benefit from. The most important and conspicuous objective of distance education is making it possible to access the knowledge that is needed with a small amount of money and without time and space limitations for those who is a part of society that need special education by means of distance education which is a system in web-based learning. It is revealed that; especially because of the problems in understanding and interpretation of themselves and their environments due to their disabilities; people, with mental disabilities, deaf and having difficulties in learning, can be successful and benefit from education technologies in distance education by individually or in a group while during the process of concept acquisition. The main objective of this study is; presenting the opinions and researches about the subject by drawing attention to distance education applications in concept acquisition for special education for handicapped. This is a descriptive study which is consisting of literature review, and comments.Öğe Gender detection and identifying one's handwriting with handwriting analysis(Pergamon-Elsevier Science Ltd, 2017) Topaloglu, Murat; Ekmekci, SeherToday, graphology is seen as an experimental field of science that is dedicated to suggest ideas about diseases, profession choices, mood and characteristics of a person by investigating his/her handwriting. Graphology is in cooperation with medicine, psychology, sociology or other disciplines that are based on observation. Graphology is used for staff recruitment in business, diagnoses in medicine, identification of criminals in forensics, choosing a profession in education, guidance and counseling and other practices at every level of social structure. It is quite interesting that the number of the scientific studies on graphology is limited around the world, that there are no specific institutions providing education of graphology and that institutions except for a few international corporations do not benefit from graphology at all. In terms of demographic properties, many statistical and mathematical analyses investigate similar and different variables. Especially, differences regarding gender have become subject to research. Therefore, detecting gender through handwriting can give pace to research in other disciplines. Moreover, the research can be useful in any field where gender detection is needed. This study fulfills two objectives. The first one is to find out whether a writer can identify his/her own handwriting. The second objective is to detect the gender of a writer of a text with the help of graphology and computer sciences. The impact of the study is reflected in the fact that findings can be used in fields where gender detection is needed, and that the detection is done with the help of expert and intelligent systems. At the end of the study, gender detection was performed for the individuals by making use of 133 attributes. Then, a decision tree and lists of rules were created with some algorithms. The purpose was to detect the gender of the person by making a character analysis of the handwriting with the help of decision tree formation methods in data mining. The analysis showed that it is possible to detect the gender of a person with the use of the specified attributes. The study reached a success level of 93.75% with ID3 algorithm.
