Yeni hükümetler, siyasi imajına, hayatın her alanını
"The Different Effects of the Socialist Regime on Art in the Two Neighboring
Countries of Albania and Yugoslavia Between 1945-1990" is a collection of art from
Albania and Yugoslavia between 1945-1990.
After the end of the Second World War, Albania and Yugoslavia would be
reconstitution under the leadership of the communists, who would rule through the
socialist regime until the beginning of the 1990s. The new government would begin its
political imperatives from the first days influencing every sphere of life and in particular,
the sphere of art, which was the main propaganda tool of totalitarian ideology and its
leaders.
Through concrete examples in painting, sculpture, and architecture, this work,
with its treatment of events over decades, brings the artistic atmosphere of the period
1945-1990 in Albania and Yugoslavia; two neighboring states that despite the socialist
system in which they were located, taking different political directions would be very
different from each other. The main purpose of this thesis lies in the comparison of the
artistic world of these two countries, as a result of the selection of different treatment of
the socialist regime. This thesis also addresses why these two neighboring states of the
same system would be drastically different in terms of artistic creativity.
