Meslek hayatları boyunca hemşirelerin %44,4’ü şiddete maruz kalmamış iken; %43,5’i 1-2 kez şiddete maruz kalmıştır. Hemşirelerin %68,9’unun son 1 yıl içerisinde şiddete maruz kalmadığı saptanmıştır. Çalıştıkları birimde arkadaşlarının şiddete maruz kalmasına %46,5’i şahit olmuş veya duymuştur.

The total working years of 45.5% of the nurses participating in the study and the total working years of 42.3% of them in the hospital is 10 years or more. 54 While 44.4% of nurses have not been exposed to violence throughout their professional life; 43.5% were exposed to violence 1-2 times. It was determined that 68.9% of the nurses had not been exposed to violence in the last 1 year. 46.5% of them witnessed or heard that their friends were exposed to violence in the unit they worked. While 58.5% of the violence they are exposed to is caused by the relatives/visitors and 32.1% by the patient, the type of violence is verbal violence and threats with a rate of 69.2%. When the emotions caused by violence in nurses were examined, it was determined that 63.1% sadness/offended, 26.3% anger/nervousness and 16.0% felt worthless. There is a statistically significant difference in terms of Continuance Commitment score among healthcare workers with different working time in the hospital (p<0.05). While Continuance Engagement is lowest in those who have worked in a hospital for 1-2 years (18,47), it is highest in those who have worked for 20 years or more (21.00). A statistically significant difference was found between the health workers who were exposed to violence by the patient and those who were not exposed to violence by the patient in terms of Emotional and Continuance Commitment scores; It has been determined that while the Emotional Commitment of those who have been exposed to violence is lower, Continuance Commitment is higher.en_US
