Mikromorfolojik
Tohum
mikromorfolojisinde S. lazica mammalian ve spinulat testa hücrelerine sahipken S.
muradica’nın benzer uzantılar taşımayan düz yüzeyli hücrelerden oluştuğu tespit edilmiştir. In this study, the endemic Silene lazica species and Silene muradica species were
investigated in terms of their macro and micro morphological, anatomical and palynological
features. The results were compared between the literature and the two species. The
morphological descriptions of the studied species are expanded. For example, leaf and seed
sizes of S. lazica were revealed for the first time. Root, stem and leaf anatomies were revealed
in anatomical studies. It was found that root and stem anatomy were similar in both species, but
the leaves of S. lazica were dorsiventral compared to the mesophyll, and the leaves of S.
muradica were equifacial. Although the palynological features of both species are very similar,
the average number of apertures was found to be 18 in S. lazica and 15 in S. muradica. Pollen
exine ornamentation of both species was found as microechinate–perforate–scabrate.
Considering the micromorphological features, it was determined that only viscid glandular hairs
in S. lazica and simple cover hairs in S. muradica were found on the stem, leaves and calyx. In
fruit micromorphology, testa cell borders of S. lazica fruits are clear and an arrangement similar
to reticulate ornamentation is observed with these borders, while S. muradica fruit surfaces
show tuberculate ornamentation with unclear cell borders. In seed micromorphology, it was
determined that S. lazica had mammalian and spinulate testa cells, while S. muradica consisted
of flat–surfaced cells without similar extensions.
