This study focuses on evident ideological types seen in Kyrgyz fiction during
the Soviet period and progresses on mainly two directions of transformer-creator types
and their counterpart types. Modern Kyrgyz fiction has advanced and been shaped on an
ideological basis from the first fiction Uzak Col to the times of independence. The main
focus of this study is this ideology. As the Soviet period formed on a Marxist-Leninist
basis, literature was accepted as necessary for the center's voice through propaganda,
thereby leading to the problems of whether the authors considered the center and whether
they created the characters in this direction. This problem constitutes the starting point of
the study. The study comprises three chapters and a conclusion section, excluding the
introduction. In the introduction, Kyrgyz history and literature were roughly introduced.
The first chapter aims to draw conceptual frameworks and deals with literature, ideology,
and types. The sample’s biographies and fiction were briefly introduced in the second
chapter. As for the third chapter, the ideological types that dominated the period
mentioned above were analyzed under two main headings of transformer-creator types
and their counterpart types. In conclusion, following the analysis, the findings and
conclusions were given regarding the essential points: author-period, author-center,
author-character, and character-period. The utilized sources were listed in the
bibliography, which appeared at the study's end.
