The purpose of this research is to determine the views of eighth-grade
science teachers from different countries on the implementation of the curriculum.
For this purpose, questionnaires applied to the eighth-grade science teachers are used
in the scope of the TIMSS 2015 research. Participants of the research are 11895
eighth-grade science teachers from 33 different countries. In the analysis of the data,
of the research, while the distribution of the variables is determined with frequency
and percentage ratios, the relations between the variables are calculated by the
Goodman-Kruskal Gamma correlation coefficient. According to the findings of the
research while the views of eighth-grade science teachers who participated in the
TIMSS 2015 research from the mentioned countries are mainly at the “high” level
(1) on understanding the goals of the school’s curriculum in the schools and (2) the
degree of success in implementing the school’s curriculum in the schools; on the
other hand the views on ( 3) working as a group on implementing the curriculum is at
the “often” level and the views on (4) having difficulty keeping up with all of the
changes to the curriculum is at the “partly disagree” level. Depending on the country,
statistically significant relationships are found between these variables.
