Today, many products are produced on the growing demand for innovative
developments. Food, cosmetics, personal care, textile, pharmaceutical industries are sectors
which have a very high market share and millions are spent. To respond to the demands of this
industries there are many technical improvements. Encapsulation is one of this innovative
techniques. The purpose of the encapsulation of perfumes can considered as preventing heat,
light, humidity and a long half-lifed compounds’ mediated oxidation, increasing stability,
prevent evaporation of volatile compounds contained and controlled release.
In this thesis, microcapsules with as core material with wall material lecithin were
produced by coacervation and emulsion metots. Morphology and formation of encapsulated
eesans were examined by SEM. The amount of the essence, the types of polymers, the effects
of the metots used on microcapsulation and retention performance, the stability of the
formulations were investigated and their cytotoxic properties were investigated on human
fibroblast cells by MTT test.
