The Balkan Wars in 1912-1913, and its conclusions; it was one of the most
important defeats of the Ottoman Empire which made history and caused the ending
process approximately 600 years domination on Balkan lands. One of the most
important results of the Balkan Wars is the loosing Thessaloniki which was the
state´s opening to Europe and the loss of one of the important trade centers. In
addition to this, Thessaloniki has been the city where the foundations of the
Repupulican system were laid as a center of the constitutional monarcy movement,
by working İttihat ve Terakki organization which became more and more important
in the 1900s. This is why the surrender of Thessaloniki by Hasan Tahsin Pasha and
his subordinates without any defense is an important issue how it shows the situation
of the state.
