Üç farklı hacme sahip silindirik iyon odasından alınan tüm ölçümler tedavi planlama sistemine girilerek farklı modellemeler yapılmış, benzer özelliklerde planlar her bir modelde ayrı ayrı hesaplatılmıştır.
In the clinical implementation of advanced treatment techniques that constitute the basis of current modern radiotherapy modalities such as intensity modulated radiotherapy, image guided radiotherapy, tomotheraphy and stereotactic radiosurgery, irradiation fields dimensions are decreased to milimetric levels. Accurate planning of such treatments depends primarily on the accuracy of dosimetric parameter measurements that are subsequently recorded to treatment planning system. For the quality control of dose distrubitions calculated on treatment planning system, appropriate dosimetric equipment selection provides the most accurate check of given doses. In our study percentage depth dose, profile and relative dose factor measurements are taken for the 6 MV photon beam fields from 1x1 cm to 10x10 cm using ionisation chambers of different volumes and diode detector in order to investigate detector effects on the measurements. Furthermore, three specific modelling for three different volume cylindrical ion chambers are performed on treatment planning system in order to investigate the same detector effects on similar intensity modulated radiotherapy plans of respective model. The ion chamber with maximal volume gave higher central axis measurement values than the others with increasing depth, especially in small fields and the largest penumbra on the profile measurements is found also for the same chamber due to it’s larger volume. In contrast, dose response of the same ion chamber is markedly lower than the others for relative dose factor measurements. Three different modellings are configured using differential volume cylindrical ion chambers measurements which were previously commissioned in system, and identical plans are calculated for each model separately. The maximal volume ion chamber gave the highest absolute dose values than the others in the measurements for all plans, while pronounced differences found between chamber’s relative dose factor values for small fields are not reflected at the same ratio to their respective plan mesurements. Additionally, ?-index evaluation is implemented for all plans, and no marked variation is observed among their results, all found within approval criteria.en_US
